In 2008 a meeting on Epidemic Intelligence and Emergency Operations Centres took place in October, which main objective was to present recent developments carried out in ECDC for threat detection, review ECDC strategy in this area and obtain input from Competent Bodies in order to prepare the 2009 work plan.	Vuoden 2008 lokakuussa järjestetyn kokouksen aiheena oli epidemiatietoja koskeva toiminta ja hätätoimintakeskukset. Kokouksen päätavoitteena oli esitellä ECDC:n viimeaikaisia saavutuksia uhkien havaitsemisessa, tarkastella ECDC:n strategiaa kyseisellä alalla sekä kerätä toimivaltaisilta elimiltä palautetta vuoden 2009 työohjelman laadintaa varten.
