Schistosomiasis, also called bilharziosis or snail fever, is a parasitic disease caused by several species of parasitic flatworms (platyhelminthes), belonging to the genus Schistosoma .Skistosomiaasi eli halkiomatotauti, josta käytetään myös nimityksiä bilhartsioosi ja etanakuume, on Schistosoma -sukuun kuuluvien laakamatojen aiheuttama loistauti.
